Zap, trigger and action explained:

A zap is an automated workflow between two or more applications. Zaps consist of at least two parts: a trigger and one or more actions or steps.

Triggers are application events that then start the Zap. As soon as a Zap is set up, Zapier monitors the application for this event.

An action is the event that completes the zap.
