Many of our customers have requested an expansion of the VAT functions and now the time has come! Today we are delighted to present the two new functions GeoDynamic VAT and Reverse Charge (B2B) . These enhancements allow you a variety of additional options to automatically adjust the VAT based on the country of your customers and/or to transfer the payment of VAT to your business customers.
With this setting, edoobox uses the IP address to determine the country in which the person making the booking is located and adjusts the VAT rate directly. This allows you to post offers for participants in Switzerland and abroad and at the same time correctly charge VAT directly in the booking. You store the VAT rates per country that you want to offer and also set a standard VAT rate that the system can use if a country is determined for which no VAT rate has yet been stored. Read more about GeoDynamic VAT here and find out the details of this function.
Reverse charge refers to the reversal of the tax liability, whereby the company that provides a service does not pay the VAT, but the recipient of the service pays the VAT. This function is now available in V2 and you have the option of activating the reverse charge for the desired countries individually. Please note that for countries outside the EU, you must check by law whether the reverse charge procedure exists in the respective country.
To use reverse charge in the booking process, the VAT number must be requested from your customers via the different billing address. Therefore, add the "Billing address" widget to the registration form via the Design Manager. Would you like to find out more? Then read the documentation on reverse charge (B2B).
